Your Census IDs are arriving in mailboxes across Clayton.  Visit my2020census.gov and input your unique Census ID provided in letter and take the less than 5-minute survey to help Clayton continue to prosper for the next 10-years!  The online questionnaire is safe & secure and saves taxpayer resources.

2020 Census: Online Completion begins March 12th

Did you know that this is the first time in history that you are able to complete the decennial census entirely online?

Beginning Thursday, March 12th, you will begin receiving invitation postcards from the Census Bureau with a unique Census ID Number that will allow you to complete the 2020 Census online! This safe and secure online response conserves natural resources, saves taxpayer dollars, and allows faster processing of responses.

Don’t worry if you don’t have access to the internet! Beginning April 1st, whoever hasn’t completed the questionnaire online will receive the traditional paper questionnaire to complete and mail back, or you may answer the Census questions by telephone.

  • Census results help determine how billions of dollars in federal funding flow into states and communities each year.
  • The results determine how many seats in Congress each state gets.
  • It’s mandated by the U.S. Constitution in Article 1, Section 2: The U.S. has counted its population every 10 years since 1790.

Clayton encourages you to fill out the census counting every person who lives at your address. Expect an invitation in the mail to complete the census in March. The official Census Day is April 1.
