Your Fire and Police Departments ask for your continued support on November 7th
Two public safety levies expire at the end of 2017 and will be included on the November 7th ballot as a continuous renewal of the existing levies. These levies provide partial funding for police and fire service within the City.
Both proposed renewal levies are the same 3.5 mills as the existing levies. Furthermore, the renewal levies will generate the same revenue as the current levies, since renewal levies cannot collect any more taxes overall than the levies that are set to expire.
If approved, the levies - appearing on the ballot as Issues 7 and 8 - will allow the City to continue its current level of service without raising property taxes for Clayton residents. A continuous renewal of the public safety levies will ensure a consistent funding source for police and fire services and will NEVER INCREASE PROPERTY TAXES.
