I was sworn on the Clayton Fire Dept. at its inception in 1997 as a firefighter/paramedic. It has been my privilege to lead the dedicated staff of the Clayton Fire Dept. since 2014. I started my fire career in 1994 as a volunteer for the Vandalia Fire Dept. Once I decided to become a professional firefighter, I worked for both Harrison Twp. and Trotwood fire departments while gaining experience and knowledge. In 2003 I was promoted to Shift Captain managing the day to day operations for my shift as well as the department's training. In 2011 I was promoted to Assistant Fire Chief and to Fire Chief in 2014. It is my responsibility to lead our department in day-to-day operations, strategic planning, goal development, policy and procedure development as well as budgeting. I serve as Vice Chair of the Miami Valley Fire/EMS Alliance consisting of 18 departments in Montgomery County, which provides fiduciary and administrative oversight for Ohio Task Force 1 (State and Federal search and rescue team). I completed my Associates degree in EMS and Fire Administration in 2004 and 2014 received a Bachelor’s Degree in Fire Science. I am happily married to my wife Tonya of 23 years. We have two sons Zac and Josh , who both are attending Liberty University. In my free time I enjoy walking with my wife, working-out, playing golf and being involved in church activities.
