Employee Committees and EventsActive Employee Committee (AEC): The AEC was created to give employees an opportunity to get to know each other as individuals, rather than just co-workers. The Committee sponsors several events every year, including a euchre party, swim party, and several tailgate luncheons. The AEC is also responsible for coordinating Employee of the Quarter nominations. This is an award initiated by employees, for employees. Co-workers may nominate any city employee whom they believe has performed at an exemplary level. The honored employee receives recognition from city employees, administrators, and is publicly recognized at a City Council meeting. Fire Association: You need not be a fireman to be a member of this organization devoted to public service. The Fire Association is one of the most active employee organizations, with several large annual events. The organization is made up of city employees, community members, and fire fighters. Some of the annual events sponsored by the group include a Golf Outing and sponsoring families in need at around the Holidays. Tailgate Luncheons: While more low key than some of our other events, the tailgate luncheons are a great time that allows all Clayton employees to participate. These luncheons are scheduled throughout the summer and staff meet behind the Government Center, where picnic tables are set up and grills are fired up. The staff enjoys this as a time to relax and “shoot the breeze” while munching on some fresh hamburgers, hotdogs, and other summer goodies brought in by the employees. |
