Clayton has over 220 lane miles to clear during winter storms. Plows remove snow first on major roads then move to less traveled roads. At very low temperatures, Clayton pre-wet the roads. Avoid leaving cars or trash cans on the road to help plow crews clear the streets. During a 2” or great snow fall event vehicles must be removed from street. Don’t crowd the plow! Leave distance behind and around our snow trucks. Help us keep you safe this winter season!
Clayton Snow Ordinance permits vehicles to be towed from public streets, at the owner's expense, after a 2 inch or greater snow accumulation. As a general rule of thumb, vehicles may return to parking on the street approximately 48-hours after the snow fall has ended. Any questions please contact Clayton PD at 225-HELP(4357).
